17th October, Birthday and Bon Voyage

Last night we held a dinner party to thank our next door friends who have been so helpful, kind and full of great suggestions for us to make our stay in their village and country so enjoyable and fulfilling. We leave the village on Saturday for Provence.  Also Cedric and Floriane are leaving for a holiday in Norway so it was planned to be a double bon voyage party, as well as a birthday party for Ann.

Our guests did not know it was Ann's birthday but probably guessed something was on when they saw the balloons with "Joyeux Anniversaire" on them around the room. Jean went back home and retrieved his harmonica and played happy birthday.

Ann catered and produced a magnificent four course French dinner which received great acclaim from our guests and Josette picked the dessert in one as Framboise Claufortis. We enjoyed a bottle of St Joseph vin rouge and some champagne.
